Demolition derby

Nominations open for Demolition Derby.

4th April.

Minimum of 5 cars to run.

Up to $1500 in prize money up for grabs.

The more cars. The more money.


Rules.

If you are not sure then just ask.


Must have an approved helmet.


Must have an approved neck brace.as per speedway Australia racing rules and regs


Must have approved solid enclosed footwear. (Lace up boats not slip-ons)


Must have approved racing suit.

Speedway Australia day licence.


Drivers must have an alcohol reading of ZERO. Testing may be undertaken at the discretion of Committee and officials. And driver caught breaching this will forfeit their entry fee and or prize money


No passengers


If you do not have all of the above you are not able to start.


CARS 4cyl and 6cyl NO FULL CHASSIS


Must have a steel plate of ¼ inch or 6mm thick secure in driver’s side door.


Must have a secure seat belt fitted and must not be retractable type and must be of good condition.


Must have driver’s door welded. All other doors to be chained with not less than 6mm chain.


Must have bar welded or bolted behind driver’s seat from centre pillar to centre pillar. Roof (roll bar) in conjunction with centre bar is optional.


Must have driver’s door painted with a red cross. If car is red then the door is to be painted white with a red cross.


Must have a window net or welded mesh


Battery is to be on the front floor and securely held in place and in a battery box.


Bonnet and boot or tailgate are to be chained. Tailgate maybe removed.


All glass and chrome to be removed.


No glass to be broken into door cavity, and any glass must be removed.


All broken glass in door cavity and car is to be removed.


Tow bars and tongues are to be removed.


Fan blades if fitted must stay in place.


If you do not comply with all of the above you will not be able to start


• Jerry can or boat type fuel tank minimum permitted.

• Pick up and breather pipes to enter top of tank and pass through floor.

• No electric fuel pumps unless original manufacturer equipment.

• Fuel tank to be securely mounted to bar work with steel straps or similar on back seat area with the spout facing the passenger side of the car.

• Fuel line to have flexible section close to tank.

• Tap to be fitted in line within reach of driver and clearly marked in a contrasting colour – FUEL ON/OFF.

• Original fuel tank must be removed or punctured


RULES


Derby will take place on the infield of the track.


Derby starts on a green flag.


Any driver found to be stationary for more than a minute will be disqualified.


Any driver deliberately hitting driver’s doors will be disqualified.


If your car is disabled you must not undo the seat belt or helmet unless the car is on fire. In that case leave the car with extreme care.


Drivers are only permitted to use first or reverse gears any other gears will see drivers disqualified.


Any driver with seat belt undone or helmet undone will be disqualified.


In the event of a red light or red flag you must stop immediately and remain stationary. Failure to obey this rule will result in you being disqualified.


After the derby is finished or declared, all cars must not be restarted to load onto trailers or driven off the track. Cars are to be winched or pushed onto trailers. Push cars will be available to assist.
