DAYLESFORD SPEEDWAY TO ENTERTAIN AGAIN THIS SUNDAY

Daylesford Speedway this coming Sunday February 28th has a packed day’s entertainment for all enthusiasts on track with all of the regular Daylesford members in club classes being joined by the invited Junior Quarter Midgets, Sports Sedans, Standard Saloons, Unlimited Sedans, Division 2 Hot Rods and Modified Sedans. There is going to be a heck of a lot of racing from 9am with the Junior quarter Midgets then from midday to 5pm with the Sedans to keep everybody entertained.

Keen early birds can settle back in their chairs with a coffee (Yes we have a Coffee van on site) with the Junior Quarter Midgets club on track to give you some early morning racing whilst you relax. From Midday the Sedans hit the track and right across all classes is some super racing to look forward too.

In the Daylesford Street Stocks Des Robinson and Glenn McCoubrie who lead the season’s points so far, will be joined by new members Brad McClure in his final year on the Street stock circuit as a race car owner and driver, Daniel Carter and Ellen Vagg in the line-up. Daniel Kettels and Chris Hay will also keep the pressure on the new members.

Jayden Humphrey will be keen to maintain his Daylesford Modifieds form however Daniel East returns with a new car and Ryan Daly is keen to finish ahead of Humphrey this week. Blake Harris a Junior last season has his rookie race in adult Speedway on Sunday. In Daylesford Junior Sedans Reece and Bailey Kakoschke resume their battles with each other with Jhett Cruise and Hunter Carey are a couple of challengers also in the field.

A important Roz Moynihan Memorial qualifying race for the Ladies Sedans has attracted some new drivers and others back from last season. Rickylee Basten is the headline racer in the Ladies line-up with pressure likely from Rachel Robinson and Jane Laidler. Some new members in the field also this week could throw a cat amongst the pigeons, Chloe Graham can steer a race car confidently.

Division2 Hot Rods are one of a number of visiting classes and the Victorian champion of the class is amongst them Scott Angus. His father Peter and Brother Daniel are all coming as are father and daughter combination Rob and Mel Tatterson. Daylesford Drivers Association President Pauly Botheras is having a run in the Sports Sedans where he will be up against Scott Angus, Troy Glassborow and former Daylesford Junior Coby Kakoschke.

Another monster line-up of Standard Saloons with over twenty nominated this Sunday. Robbie Noonan, Luke King, Justin Hutchins, Tristan Hunt, Ash Dean, Daniel Walkinshaw, Matt Domburg and the current King of Wins at Daylesford Tim Hutchinson just some in the list, it will be some cracker racing to watch.

The monster sized Unlimited Sedans are visiting fresh off last week’s Victorian title and with the class champion Warrick Taylor bringing along a few friends, Stan Brown, Ian Page and Graeme Nugent to name a few. Taylor is the three time state champion of the class and is looking forward to racing with Page & Nugent, who are long time legends in Sedan racing enjoying some fun in the Unlimiteds.

Rounding out the complete line-up is the Modified Sedans and the Nyora Club visitors have been kind enough to bring their cars for this class also. Dale Hallett, Scott Angus, John Dike, Trish Dike all having a go in Modified Sedans this Sunday.

There are also some Formula 500 and AMCA National demonstration runs. Whilst these classes will only be demonstration, this will mean there will be something on track at all times during the day.
