Repost from Speedway Australia.
A long running venue in picturesque rolling hillside famous for its hot springs, Daylesford Speedway are the latest track to join the Speedway Australia community. Located about an hour northwest of Melbourne, the Daylesford Speedway Drivers Association have poured their heart and soul into their facility, with a host of upgrades taking place in recent years.
Led by exuberant President Paul Botheras, the club is famous for it’s “racing in the basin”, the origins of the name becoming immediately obvious when you visit the track. Nestled down a leafy access road, the venue opens up before your eyes when you get to the bottom and has a welcoming, laid back feel. The inner circuit is one of the homes of Quarter Midgets in the state, with the outside track wide and broad enough for many Sedan and Modified divisions.
With a mix of their own classes and other Victorian divisions on the schedule, the club are looking to resume post-COVID activities as soon as practically possible. They also have plans to continue the upgrades to the venue, with Speedway Australia now on board to assist in that regard.
Check their Facebook page for more details, including a revised season calendar once finalised. Best of luck to all the team at Daylesford Speedway for the season ahead!
